Great place , staff friendly , the band jake leg jug band were very good
My choir held a skittles evening here in one of the rooms. The bar staff were friendly; the room clean and spacious; the toilets pleasant. There is a small car park. Very nice.
I moored up close to the club. It had come recommended from a few of the locals at the Greyhound pub. The sign outside the club indicated incorrect information. First, at this time, there is no chef, and hence no food. Second the opening times, during the week it's five o'clock. Four on a Friday, two on Saturday and twelve on a Sunday. As to the previous comment about clicky. It's a locals club, but I didn't find this intimidating. I watched the last two hours of the Ashes. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere. Monday about five thirty there is a chippy outside. Personally I can't fault the welcome I received.
This club is incredibly "clicky" a typical social club from the 70s!. If you're not a regular, it's not worth your time because you'll be treated like an outsider. It takes forever to be served because there's only one staff member, and she is extremely rude. And let me tell you about the club secretary, Steve Ridley - I've never encountered someone so arrogant, rude, and obnoxious in my entire life. The atmosphere is terrible, the place is dreadful, and it's no surprise that it's practically empty when they treat guests in such a manner.
Went to a friend's wedding and was pleasantly surprised. Nice venue. Great helpful staff. Parking a bit on the small side but a fair bit on the road and surrounding streets.
