My family had their first visit to Black Forest today and it is definitely our last! The wait was horrendous! Getting refills on coffee and water was almost nonexistent. When our food finally did arrive… we had to send back multiple items. The sunny side up eggs were under cooked (pretty much not cooked at all), sausages were raw and pink inside, the fruit bowl had literal bugs crawling on it!!!! The waitress didn’t even look surprised when we showed her the undercooked items and the bugs on the fruit! Not even an apology from the workers for the encounter. The only reason I didn’t give a 1 star is the prices are amazing… but you get what you pay for I suppose

I’ve been coming here for a couple years now and they’re consistently good. Carly and Sarah are always great. Carly remembers my usual favorites which shows a level of appreciation for her customers and a service you don’t typically find anywhere for such a busy restaurant. When you consider how busy this place is consistently during the week days when I go there you can’t beat this place. I hope you’ll try this place more than once before leaving a review. No one is perfect! Family owned and run businesses are the backbone of our country. I hope this review helps anyone looking for a good local spot to frequent.

The wait was incredibly long on a Sunday morning. The staff were nice and the food was good. Great prices!!

Before we walked in we could see that one of the entrance doors was taped off due to damage from a roof leak it appeared. We walked in another door and at first glance could see that it was just another typical diner. We were seated shortly after walking in by a nice young lady. The bright color green on the walls was over done and the silverware looked dirty and very very old. The menu had so many items. We both ordered the french dip, mine with fries and his with potato salad. It looked okay when it arrived with crinkled fries that I am sure were frozen and they were unevenly heated, some were cold. I did eat half of my sandwich and it was just okay, very plain, meat & bread only. I only ate a few fries, yuck. At closer look at the other half I noticed a tiny piece of old lettuce on the meat so I removed it and found that pieces of the meat that were actually cold, like right out of the fridge. When I fliped it over I saw green on the bun. Mold? I called the waitress over and told her and her reply was "oh it's probably just avocado from the board when they were making it." I just couldn't continue eating this horrible food. My husband did finish his though, he was pretty hungry and the potato salad looked okay. We had been wanting to try this restaurant for some time now and now that we have we will not be back. I do not recommend this place. The waitress did remove the charge for my meal. Which was nice of her, but I would had rather of enjoyed the meal and done a positive review.

First time here with our breakfast club and it was a big hit with everyone. They had room for us - group of ten - in the side room. Our waitress was very attentive but not hovering. She met every need we had with a smile. Our food arrived pretty quickly and all together, which is always nice when eating in a large group. We really enjoyed our meal here as a group, and will be adding the Black Forest Family Restaurant to our rotating- but next time we’ll be returning for lunch because the offerings on the menu looked very intriguing.
