I stopped by to see what kind of laundromat was located near the Homeland store on Frank Phillips Boulevard. The parking lot was empty so I was curious whether it was even open or out of business. To me that was the first red flag. Upon entering I immediately noticed no attendant was on site. This was another issue. If customers have problems with machines, change, or their clothes, who can they talk to? An unattended laundromat is an open invite for thieves and vagrants, making the place unappealing. This was red flag number 2. Red flag number 3 was the broken change machine. I also didn't see an ATM machine. This sent a message customers had to bring their own change. With no attendant or a working change machine, there was no way to get help on the premises. In addition, there didn't appear to be an available restroom for customer use. This meant customers had to leave their clothes unattended and risk having them stolen while going elsewhere for a bathroom break. Those were the major items I considered as red flags. The prices of the machines were higher than other laundry facilities. This didn't help and only made the laundromat even less attractive. Bubba's Bubbles has a facility in Caney, Kansas. I saw similar issues when I looked for a laundromat there. If this business is to survive and draw paying customers, the current model needs to be changed. Business hours need to be set so the facilities don't attract vagrants especially late at night. Attendants need to be hired and work on site to help customers and speed up service calls as needed on equipment. The change machine definitely needs to be repaired so customers can use it for the washers and dryers.
Always upfront parking available and easy to turn into parking lot off road. Always available washers/driers & people seem friendly there. Plenty of seating available and rolling carts available for easy moving of clothing. Seats inside and outside to wait.
It use to be a good place until last couple years, now homeless have over taken it, ans they cause so many issues for the customers.
Seemed clean and was cool, and safe, however, 2 of the smaller machines #2 & #3 took my money and wouldn't work, that was $6 and the machine to buy sacks took my money and no sacks, another .75, the coin machine was out of service and I had to clean 3 of the washers before I could do my laundry. They were packed with dog hair and dirt. The small machines are just too small to get anything really clean, and the key word here is "small", you can only do very small loads.
i went to this laundry mat just because it was open on a holiday weekend vs the one i normally use was closed. when i pulled in i was met by a man (i assumed was a customer??) asking for money who was weird and unkempt. i also 'think' i saw someone lying on the floor. i used just the dryer and was surprised that this place wanted $1.50 to dry clothes with a 30 minute time. it gives you NO choice as to using the dryer for less money and less time as a competitor laundry mat in this town which charges 25 cents per 5 min. so to dry a small amount of laundry i had to pay double what i normally pay. the inside of this place needs some updating. the machine i used did the job altho i did not need to use the full 30 min i was forced to pay for. i won't go back to it again altho i am grateful it was open.
