Craving for a hot soup bowl in a freezing weather. Found a hidden little shop located at King Square at Markham on google map. Pretty hard to find, as the directory at the mall itself are not well maintained. It’s actually located at the food court section. Wasn’t expecting too much from this place at the very beginning, as the mall is so empty with lots of vacant spaces. It’s a small shop with seating area, cutlery set placed on table like chopsticks and spoon with sanitizing wet tissues and condiments. Everything are place nicely and very clean. Offer free WiFi service too! It’s a pick your own hot bowl, you can choose your own ingredients. There are quite a lot of dishes to choose from the small fridge, food items placed neat and well organized. They charge by the weight of the items chosen (Charges : $3.75 per 100g with minimum 454 gram) They cook and serve yours at your table. There are a la carte or all you can eat option. Also level of spiciness. I have picked the extra spicy, the soup base was unexpectedly great and delicious. The service are great and friendly. A perfect place for solo and small group. For sure be back again and recommended.
Not sure where all the 1 or 2 star reviews are coming from. Visited this restaurant a handful of times, never had any digestion issues. This is a spot where you choose your own ingredients, pay for your items and then find seating, they don't serve you at the table. The negative reviews where people complaining about tipping because it's a "fast food" type of restaurant, are reaching, and do not apply since the restaurant doesn't ask you for tips based on said fast food style service. Staff are helpful, even with a language barrier. Flavouring of the soup base is delicious and variable spiciness to your liking. The ingredients are fresh and pair well with the malatang soup base. My only suggestion would be to have more selection of ingredients. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the mall/plaza
Got this for takeout and it was our first time trying malatang. On average, it’s around $15/person, which isn’t bad. The flavour is on the heavy side as expected - we ordered mild and it’s still quite spicy. Follow me on Instagram for more food adventures at @maggliecious.to
This place is one of my favourite malatang place! So good with their NuT sauce on top!!! But the variety of toppings are getting limited compared to maybe 6months ago. Options are different getting from store and Uber! They still taste very yum but I want them to bring back all the ingredients they used to have! ????
We went there a few weeks ago and tried the all you can eat menu. For girls, I suggest you try the regular by weights menu, or else you either eat too much as I did or overpay for what you eat. The taste was good and they put lots of sesame oil in it.
