Corona, NM, is such a small town that you can easily drive through it without noticing it. However, if you can find the El Corral Cafe, you will be treated to a warm and friendly restaurant hosted by a Senora with the biggest smile in these parts. Among her guests are genuine cowgirls and cowboys who find room to park their cattle trailers on the other side of the highway. After Thanksgiving, on the way home to Colorado, my wife and I stopped by the El Corral Cafe and found the perfect wood burning stove to warm our hands. We ordered pozole soup and chili rellenos that were delicious and satisfying. You will never find another restaurant with more authentic New Mexican cuisine and hospitality!
Cute little cafe right on RT 54, easy to park our coach along the road. Busy Sunday morning when we walked in but almost immediately it thinned out with only two other tables occupied. But yet we waited seemed a long time to get our meals (bacon, eggs, oatmeal etc). There was lots of talking in the kitchen but I guess not much work, it shouldn't have taken that long for our simple orders when there were only two other tables occupied and they had already eaten. The bowl of oatmeal was HUGE, but she said kinda soupy. My scrambled eggs were a little burnt but I ate them anyway. Hash browns were nothing special. My bacon was crispy as I asked. All in all it was nothing special, but it was edible. Don't go out of your way to get breakfast there. Maybe they're known for their Mexican dishes. Oh yes, our toast was burnt too.
We arrived when they opened at 8. Had a delicious sausage and eggs breakfast, which included hash browns and toast. Coffee was perfect. Met 2 very friendly locals. Service was great. A diamond in the rough!
A nice little family run diner with standard food plus Mexican food. Large booths and table seating. Breakfast is not served all day. Mexican food options seem to be the focus. Burger patties are freshly made. Nice place to stop if you're on a trip to White Sands. Pretty standard overall.
Family run and outstanding! We stopped on our way to Alamogordo. Everything was homemade. I ordered the green chili soup which came with ground beef, onions and cheese. It was a huge portion and delicious! I also had a chili relleno with amazing crispy batter smothered in delicious red chili enchilada sauce. I recommend this restaurant!!
