We had some pretty great birria tacos (with guac, rice and beans) and chicken enchiladas -- and at a great price, especially for Old Pasadena.

Talk about real Mexican food!!! This is the place you want to eat. The food is made with fresh ingredients from their own local garden. The sauces are amazingly spiced that you will continue to ask for more. The staff’s hospitality is true to the Mexican culture: FRIENDLY with a family feel. Thank you Nicky for making us feel like a part of the El Toreo family .

10/10 we were in from Pittsburgh for the Rose Bowl and Carlos was incredible, his cooks and employee Matthew showed us such hospitality. Legit the best authentic Mexican food we’ve ever experienced. If you sleep on this place you’re missing out.

What a cute little place, right in old town! The food was delicious, affordable and our waiter was so kind. I appreciate how the chef honored all my weird requests (burrito with no tortilla or rice, on top of veggies) and came up with a beautiful plate for me. I will definitely be back.

This is the first Mexican Restaurant I dined in when I moved to Pasadena. Their breakfast and lunch specials are always superb. This is one of the historical Mexican Food places in the Oldtown Historical District.
