My sister and I went here for dinner and had a great experience! The lady helping us was very welcoming, hilarious, and so helpful even showing us the best way to eat the shrimp rolls since it was our first time trying it at their restaurant. The sauce it comes with was very nice. Our phos also came out fresh and hot which was worth the wait. Would definitely recommend and be back here!
This is a sister restaurant to Summer Roll - I believe her daughter runs that one. We order from here to get the same menu with less of a wait. I brought a toddler here and they even had some magnets for her to play with and take home, and they were willing to serve her a plate of sliced cucumbers when that's all she wanted from our meals.
What Chinese restaurant can't make a decent wor wonton soup? Fongs, thats who. Broth was good, wonton slightly overdone (fall apart mushy), 3 pieces of broccoli "stems", and 3 shrimp that tasted off. Not even a bit of bokchow . Really... it wasn't good. THEN when they asked how it was, I tried to be discreet, but they talked to each other in Chinese so I couldn't understand. Then failed to give me my change. Seriously, they just kept my change and turned away.
Noodle bowls are great, pad Thai is also awesome but nothing compares to their coconut chicken curry soup. I no longer live in Saskatoon but make a point to have this soup at least once while I am in town.
We drove across town because of the "best in Saskatoon" reviews, to try it out. We had fried rice and special chow mein. It was good, service was nice, but the portions and the flavour didn't come close to the standard set by Thien Vietnam. They do make the strongest and sweetest iced coffee I've ever had in Saskatoon!
