I called after hours and he told me I could come by. Fixed my car fast for an extremely reasonable price that I was quoted way more at an other place. Also confirmed my suspicions that a repair shop I received an oil change from who had said all this stuff was wrong and quoted me thousands of dollars was in fact lying. Very fair and honest. I’m new to Redmond and am excited I have found my new mechanic. Thank you!
First off, based on Justin’s responses to other reviews on here I’m sure he’ll deny we were even customers. Let me assure you, we were customers of Foreman Auto on Hwy 97 in Redmond, Oregon. Justin supposedly put a rebuilt transmission in my son’s Ford Ranger. We’re skeptical he actually did the work as it later had the same problem, but the bigger issue was that he also installed wheels and wheel spacers. They were installed improperly as the original studs protruded beyond the spacers and he did not cut them off. The wheel was resting on the ends of the bolts, not the spacer, like they should have been. Anyone who knows wheel spacers knows what happened next. My son and girlfriend were driving highway speeds on a mountain highway. The wheel started vibrating and within seconds the front left wheel came off and rolled into oncoming traffic. Fortunately no one was coming toward them at the time. Also fortunately my son was able to slow down to about 30-40 mph before the wheel came off and was able to maintain control of the vehicle. They were both scared but not injured. They, however, were stuck in the road missing a wheel out of cell service. The kindness of strangers got them off the road and to a telephone. Fast forward, Justin denied responsibility and blamed my son, saying he had taken the wheels off. We have video of how they were installed wrong and you can google it and see that when spacers are installed like this the wheels fall off. We sued Justin in small claims court. We won. He owes us over $7,000 and the amount is increasing daily as he has yet to pay us a penny. We have used all legal means to collect including an attempted debtors examination, filing to have held in contempt (which he was), and hiring a Private Detective. He keeps all his assets in other people’s names because, we found out, he owes a lot of people money and dodges his responsibilities. We will be turning this over to a collection agency. Anyway, we will never again do business with Foreman Auto and highly recommend everyone consider our story before making the decision to do business with this company as well.
Avoid Foreman's Auto at all costs! They tried to scam me out of nearly $1500 for a supposed wheel bearing issue that didn't even exist. The mechanic quickly diagnosed both wheel bearings as destroyed and insisted on immediate repairs. When I couldn't afford it, he demanded $125 for the "diagnosis," which was a simple two minute process of jacking up a tire and shaking it. Another 2 mechanics later confirmed there was nothing wrong with my wheel bearings. Foreman's Auto is a rip-off joint preying on unsuspecting customers. Steer clear! The full story: Justin may claim I was never a customer but I can assure you that I was. I was driving my 2012 Tacoma through Oregon to Idaho and I started hearing a quiet but still slightly unsettling noise coming from the driver front of the car just as I passed into OR. I was a little worried and concerned about the safety of my vehicle, so I reached out to Foreman's Auto, the only place that was open on a Sunday, located in Redmond OR, hoping for a quick diagnosis to assess whether it was safe to continue my journey. The person who answered (Justin) told me that he could take a quick look at it to see what the problem might be. Upon arrival, Justin raised the front end of my vehicle with floor jacks, wiggled my wheels with his hands, and without hesitation declared that both wheel bearings were completely shot. Demonstrating what he deemed as excessive "play" in the wheel with a crowbar, he insisted on an immediate repair, presenting me with a daunting invoice totaling nearly $1500. The first flag was he told me I needed to replace my brake rotors without looking at them; I had just replaced them less than a month before. I told him that, and when he still insisted I needed new ones I told him I couldn't afford to fix that right now, so instead he pushed financing options. When I told him I’d rather risk continuing the drive he told me I wouldn't make it, telling me I would probably break down before I made it very far. He was being rather coercive saying he didn't feel comfortable with me trying to drive it. I decided I would take the risk anyway and continue my drive. He told me since I was leaving without paying for him to “fix” my problem which I now know was completely misdiagnosed, I now owed him $125 for the diagnosis. I begrudgingly paid him the $125. I felt ripped off. I drove the 500+ miles back to Idaho without incident. The noise disappeared moments after I left the shop. Once in Idaho, I took it to a shop where they performed a free (imagine that) diagnosis of the noise/wheel bearing issue. They told me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with A: my wheel bearings, and B: the noise was probably just from a small rock or something that was now gone and that there was nothing I should be concerned about. I had another mechanic look at it afterwards just to double verify that nothing was wrong and the report was the same: there was absolutely nothing wrong with either wheel. These guys are scam artists, plain and simple. Save yourself the headache and find a reputable mechanic elsewhere. They tried to scam a college kid out of $1500 for repairs I didn't even need. Spare yourself the trouble and avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of honest mechanics out there who won't rip you off.
Absolutely stellar service. My car broke down on the side of the highway on a Sunday afternoon on my way back to Portland. I didn't think that I would be able to find an auto shop open but found this one thankfully only 6 miles from me. Not only did he fix what was wrong with it quickly once it was in his shop, but he personally drove to where I was on the highway to diagnose what was wrong with it before I called for a tow. I was in and out in no time. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for great service. Thank you!
Not super thrilled with the customer service portion. I did have work done, and a majority of this work was done well. The suspension (in pic) looks and feels great. You will notice some flaws in the install. Unfortunately i had to end up taking this back to another shop for additional repairs. I did seek out a list of work performed (receipt…) so I could share this with the other shop. I had moved towns between repairs. Had no option to bring back here. Justin ignored my request for receipt/list of work performed, after I asked 5 different times over a couple months. I have reached out via email, phone, even text only to be ignored. If you choose this shop to get work done, be sure to get a written quote. They will not “work with you” as you would expect from a local shop.
