I will admit...the outside may look a little dated. But once you're inside, I absolutely love this place, I've had a full English x 3 and a basket lunch. The breakfast was delicious with a nice full plate of food. I'm yet to explore the rest of the menu. The staff are friendly and approachable. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. Thank you, Golden Lion team, for taking my advance orders at lunchtime.????

the Golden Lion is an underrated pub in the area; it manages to avoid all the usual trappings of your overly-gentritied gastropub, i.e table service, overly priced hoppy beer, overly fancy food, and instead provides a decent selection of ales, cask and keg, and proper pub food that's easily on a par with the more expensive gastros in the area but at a much reasonable price point. There's a pool table but with decent separation to the other tables, usually some cool stuff on the stereo - last time I was there they were playing all the Northern Soul bangers. It's an unpretentious pub with a certain charm about it.

This is a big, old fashioned local pub with a great little garden bar, pool table and big screen for football. Prices are reasonable and beer selection ok but could be do with a few more craft style beers. Decore could do with updating. One of those pubs that could be a great venue with a few tweaks

Very poor service, I was served very low quality beer and they even bother to change it after raising a complaint. Their body language at front wasn’t that welcoming. Probably they don’t like irregular customers or customer with Color.
