This was a fantastic pub to visit, with an ideal bright design! The counter is well-presented, seating is comfortable and me and my friend got proper shots each.

Called in for a pint. No food. It's basically a sports bar. Pint of madri...nice.

Meatcastles has recently received the accolade of one of the countries best burgers. And they are amongst the best I have tasted anywhere. Visit the idle Valley tap on carolgate, Retford on Saturdays only. Everythings cooked fresh to order so be prepared to wait and it can be very busy. The boxes when your burger arrives are huge, but don't worry the burger is a good size especially double or triple burgers but not so big that you can't eat it. Its packed with fillings so napkins and wet wipes are also recomended

Nice local style pub. Good selection of real ales. Good atmosphere.
