The only place around to get real chicharrones!! The barbacoa was not ‘clean’. Lots of undesirable bits. When I asked for ‘cachete’ they looked at me like I was insane. All in all, it will scratch your Sunday morning itch for Barbacoa.

A friend recommended La Unica to us for the tortillas and since we were in Conroe for other business we decided to stop by. We didn't know they served lunch, but since it was lunchtime when we got there we decided to go for it. Glad we did. The food was really good, the portions were big, and las señoras were very friendly and helpful. They were so gracious to work with my Duolingo-based Spanish! Since we were the only ones having lunch at that time I told my wife I felt like we were sitting there having lunch in their home kitchen. It was a very nice change to the pretentious Mexican food and decorations found at just about every so-called Mexican restaurant anywhere, especially the big chains. We will return, even though it will require a drive from our home in The Woodlands.

Not so friendly service, only accepted cash and the food was GROSS AND COLD! Not cooked fresh in the restaurant and the tortillas were stale after 2 hours! Will not return nor recommend

Great service, nice and clean place but most of all great food at a great price. Come early to get the freshest food and tortillas.
