Great little pub, friendly staff and good service.

Top notch village pub with Bradfield cask ales. They don’t serve food if that is what you’re looking for. Give the Farmers Stout a go when it’s on.

Nice local pub with plenty of outside seating. Selection of both draft and bottled beers, wine and spirits. Great for a quiet drink with friends or a place to meet others.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I’m a 22-year-old female (albeit, I look much younger), and had come for a few glasses of pop with my friends last weekend in the afternoon. When I approached the bar and said hello to the staff, she immediately said ‘ID’ - not even a hello. I gladly handed my license over, totally appreciating that my face is very young, whilst also quite miffed that she had asked me for identification without even knowing what I was ordering (or if I was ordering at all rather than asking a question). When she got my ID, she took it over to a counter and got a big book out and began a long 5-10 minute process of writing down what appeared to be every detail on my licence. I felt quite confused about what she was doing and decided to be quiet as this woman’s attitude was intimidating to me and I’m a relatively shy person. I regret this now. After I got my Diet Coke, I sat outside with my friends and asked if they had had the same thing happen (they hadn’t) and said how confused I was about everything, and uncomfortable about my details being in the book. Another staff member overheard me, and shouted across the beer garden quite aggressively that they do it so I don’t have to show them my ID again. Though I would much rather show them my ID briefly than have them write my details in a book. The staff made me feel small here. I’m unsure if it was just a bad day for them or if it was because I’m a fairly young person, but the atmosphere was completely off. Such a shame. I will be in contact to find out more about this book and am more than prepared to take this further if it breaches data protection.
