A great company very helpful, honest and trustworthy. I have used Montgomery a few times now. Would highly recommend especially if you have a large van. For MOTs of big vans you will need to go to the Southwick branch. As the Shoreham does not have the ceiling room to look underneath or raise high enough. There are to branches so make sure you book into the correct one. As its possible to get mixed up on location if you've never used this great company. They are not far from each other.
Went for a MOT on my large vehicle that wouldn’t fit on a ramp - Montgomery have a pit so fitted my vehicle just fine. Reception lady was super friendly and Lee the MOT tester was great - he even put in a new bulb so I wouldn’t fail and then moved two cars to make it easy for me to get out. Thanks v much. Highly recommended.
BEWARE! CHECK THAT ANY WORK QUOTED IS NECESSARY OR WHAT YOU ASKED FOR! My insurer instructed Montgomery Motors to carry out some repairs after a driver reversed into my vehicle. I have no issues with the quality of work that was carried out in replacing the front bumper and one of the headlights. Although I cannot comment on the fairness of the cost as the costs were covered by the other driver’s insurer. While Montgomery Motors were repairing my vehicle I called them to ask for a separate quote to replace the mirror glass and backing plate on the driver’s side wing mirror. This was due to an unknown person helping themselves to my previous mirror glass and backing plate while my vehicle was sat outside my home waiting to be collected to have the bumper and headlight damage repaired. I was shocked when Montgomery Motors quoted me £294 to replace the entire wing mirror. Claiming there was damage and the entire mirror needed replacing. I politely declined their quote. When I collected the vehicle, after Montgomery Motors had replaced the front bumper and headlight, I requested the mechanic show me the damage to the wing mirror as I couldn’t see any and had assumed I would just be given a quote for replacing the mirror glass and backing plate. The mechanic declined my request to show me the damage and quickly backtracked on his initial assessment. When face-to-face and having his initial quote challenged I was told that I should look on the internet to order the mirror glass and backing plate myself. I ordered the replacement part for £22. Some £272 cheaper than Montgomery Motors quoted me to fix the issue. I fitted the part myself despite my lack of knowledge regarding automobiles. It was just a case of clipping the backing plate into the wing mirror casing. My elderly mum could have done it! Despite the severe winds and weather that my vehicle is currently being subjected to the mirror glass and backing plate are as secure as ever. I can only assume that the wing mirror miraculously repaired itself between the time the mechanic advised me of the damage over the phone and me attending Montgomery Motors and inspecting the damage (or lack of) myself. Won’t be asking them for any quotes in the future.
