Anyone that wrote that it was a nice place mustve been paid to say so or high. The only reason I gave so many stars for service is because Lance, the manager on duty, tried his best to help me, but the jackass, thief of an owner makes his money ripping people off. He was very nice & went out if his way. You need to find a better place Lance. They don't deserve you! I was enroute to surprise my son, whom I hadn't seen in several years. I lost my home in Maryland due to mold & had just gotten out of the hospital after 10 months from mold sickness. I basically lost everything. Had very little money but enough to get to my son's in NC. I was tired & falling asleep at the wheel, saw the Rainbow Motel saw & it seemed semi ok on the outside...lotta cars there so must be ok, right? $70? Seriously? The screen has no handle, could get the door open at first. Soon as I got in in was hit with cigarette smoke smell so strong that my nose, lips, mouth, etc started burning. I didn't realize you could even smoke in motels anymore. I don't think staying there was going to work. The toilet must've come from a preschool...it was soooooo low. I could barely get up off the floor from using it. I was so tired I thought I'd lay down and see if I could just fall asleep quick but I could feel nicotine coating my clothes & skin, & the bed covers reeked if smoke & body odor. The air conditioner or heater vents were horrible...covered in golden colored nicotine dust. So much for turning it on to filter in some fresh air. I wasn't even in the room 15-20 minutes before I started wheezing. I have asthma from the mold exposure...so I'm sensitive to a lot of things. I had hoped to tough it out because I was so tired but I just couldn't take it anymore. I hate complaining, so for me to do so, means the situation was really bad for me. Lance listened & apologized & said he wished he'd known cuz he'd have out me in a non smoking room if I'd said something. But I seldom stay in motel & didn't think it was allowed. Anyway, Lance said he couldn't refund my money but had another room that was in use & they'd be done soon (?) & I could have that one @930 pm. He was trying to be nice but I just wanted to leave. He understood & called the owner to get the instructions on how to refund my debit PMT but the owner refused. Not once, but twice maybe 3 times. Lance tried to explain to him that I was going thru a hard time right now but the owner still refused for a room I barely used for a meer 15-20 minutes. Lance tried to get him to change his mind again but still no. And then offered to pay me back himself...bless his heart! Thanks for trying Lance. As for the owner you'll get what's coming to you. Karma...believe in it. I had to sleep in my car last night since I had no money left. Hope you're eating a nice dinner tonight! The best thing that could happen to this place is let the kids play with matches there for awhile.

We were I town to see son. Needed a place to stay for the night and this place was laterally right around the corner. We had dinner in town that pulled in to the Rainbow Motel to get a room. Nobody was in the office and the door was locked. They didn’t answer the phone when called at 6 PM. Wife hit the door bell and a guy came out. He was talking to us through a glass window with a tiny little opening at the bottom. He asked standard questions but we told him three times we couldn’t hear him. He made no attempt to speak up. There were no cars in the parking lot and the place looked to be empty. Wife finally asked the room rate and he said they were full. I wouldn’t bother if you are considering this place.

The man I tried to speak to at the front desk was extremely rude and unaccommodating. I called trying to explain my situation before asking how many rooms they had available (have a large group), and he at first hung up and then when I called back before I could even finish he said I had the wrong number and hung up again. I guess he though I was a telemarketer or something (I don’t know?), but he clearly lacked any and all patience and professionalism. Fine be a jerk, I’ll take my business elsewhere.

I'm from Ohio and I stayed here five nights in December of 2014. It's not the fanciest place in town but I'd stay there again. First of all, it was priced reasonable for a person on a tight budget. Second, I called the health department (as I always do when I'm booking a motel) and they had just the week before had a yearly walk through and gave them a 98 out of 100. It looked clean, it smelled clean, it was clean. I had maid service every other day and they did a nice job. The place was safe, I saw no bad people around. Water came out hot. The bathroom had new toilet, new sink, new shower stall. Bed was comfortable. To give you a true assessment I will say the windows were old and you could hear people talk outside and traffic on the road out front. But the noise was not loud enough to keep me awake. The hot water was fine for one person but not for back to back showers. It is an old building but not with a falling down look, just in need of a facelift. I would give them an 8 out of 10 rating.
