We were recently on vacation in Cape May and started having transmission trouble. We took our car to a nearby garage and they hooked it to the computer diagnostics and it was confirmed it was a transmission issue but they stated they did not have time to repair it and to check around with other garages. We did book an appointment the next day at another repair shop but then made a call to S&E Auto Repair and I am so glad we did! When we told Scott about the issue we were having he immediately knew what the problem was and even offered to do some investigating on his end to confirm (a nationwide recall.) Scott took a chunk of time out of his very busy day to assist us when he was not even going to make a dime on us, since it was a recall issue. He confirmed the information and advised us what our next steps should be. If it wasn’t for Scott we could have faced a very hefty repair bill at the other garage. We ended up having the car towed several hundred miles back home to the dealership for the covered repairs. We can not even begin thank Scott enough for his kindness, his help and his honesty!

(Posted for my mom and Aunt) S & E Auto Repair was fantastic, caring and helpful! We were vacationing near Cape May, NJ. My car was packed and we were ready to head home. Turning the car around, I accidently backed into a tree and dented my right rear fender. Once on the road, I realized it wasn't safe to drive the 100+ miles home, because something was rubbing my tire. I saw a sign for S & E Auto Repair and pulled in. The owner explained right away he was a mechanic and did not do “body part” repair. Realizing how upset I was and we didn't know where to go for help, he was compassionate. He stopped what he was doing, looked at the car and made temporary repairs, so we could safely drive home. The owner sent us on our way and refused to take anything for his help. We are most grateful for his kindness and generous help.

Our 2012 Honda odyssey started backfiring a little and not taking gas the normal way ….Scott, the owner took our car even though he had many cars to fix because we were in Cape May far from our home. He was able to diagnose the problem for us, and because he was not in a position to fix it because it needs a new engine he would not charge us because we were now stranded without a car to get home… I don’t think you could find a more qualified mechanic to work on your car or a more honest mechanic plus a man with a big heart then Scott.

I had some concerns about my truck when visiting town for a week. Scott took care of me same day. It is very clear that this place is honest and fair — traits you don’t find too often at car shops these days. I personally watched Scott take care of another customer, explain and demonstrate exactly the issue and solution. He treated me with the same degree of kindness and aptitude. He went above and beyond. Can’t recommend this place more.

We needed to get our Ford Explorer looked at for a rather annoying loud squeaking while on vacation. Since I’m 7 months pregnant and we have our almost 4 year old with us, we decided not to wait and to get it looked at before driving 5 hours back home to PA. I called around without luck, until calling S&E. The owner was absolutely amazing, told me to come in right away and he would check it out. He took my tire off, checked everything out and cleaned it up and ensured us we were safe to drive home. He was very friendly and sweet to our little boy also. If all business owners ran the way he runs his, the world would be a better place.
