I remember living there as a kid because moms and pops couldn't afford anything better and not their fault, but it gives me the creeps.

$120 per night is a little steep but it's very chill here people know each other and it keeps people honest.

For such an old Motel, the Sands Motel has style. It has history. And, it has longevity. Plus, it hasn't been torn down, like all the motels near it have been. It will be a sad day.

Great place been coming here for years

Had an unpleasant experience. I am a young black man and as soon as I walked up to the front desk to rent a room, there was an old Indian lady basically "shooing" me away with her hands, telling me to leave. She was very old and clearly didn't speak English, so I ignored her and waited for the manager to arrive. When the manager finally did arrive, he was very rude and act like he didn't wanna rent a room out to me, but he did anyway. The first thing he said to me was "don't smoke weed in my room" , which I took as a racial thing, as if all black men smoke weed. I needed the room so I decided to stay...bad decision. The rooms are very old and dingy looking. Lots of spiders, weird looking bugs and different critters I kilt throughout the one night I was there. The bed sheets looked fairly clean....until I peeled them back...and what I saw was disgusting...blood stains on the sheets....I immediately called the front desk and asked for a transfer but all they did was change the sheets. As if that wasn't bad enough, The neighboring tenants were arguing all throughout the night, threatening to kill one another and nothing was done by the manager who stood outside watching them smoking a cigarette before going back inside. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone who expects even decent customer service. I would not recommend this place to a person who enjoys cleanliness. I would not recommend this place to anyone who hates bugs. And lastly, I would not recommend this place to anyone who doesn't like being assumed to do drugs, based off the color of their skin.
