Superb pub serving delicious, hearty classic British meals. If only more pubs kept it simple and did honest good food like here! Having read the reviews we visited for dinner here and it did not disappoint. The family running the pub were very welcoming. The menu was great, they accommodated our two year old with anything in a smaller portion so he enjoyed a quality meal too. We had two pies and the ham egg and chips, plus roulade and bread and butter pudding. All very tasty and decent portions. Incredibly reasonably priced too. Well worth the effort to go and eat here - you won't be disappointed.
UPDATE APRIL 2022 NOW SADLY CLOSED. Hands down the best Sunday roast I have had in a long time. I went for the pork which was so succulent and all the trimmings were perfectly cooked. A friend had beef and another the pie which looked amazing. Add to that the super friendly service, welcoming team and little extra touches like asking if we wanted extra gravy (a whole boat came out which made my day!) and its a recipe for perfection in my book. Wonderful!
Ok.. might seem a little biased as these guys are family... but this pub really is a real gem. Very friendly and welcoming, fantastic home cooked food (may I recommend the Steak and Kidney pie!) and the guys are incredibly passionate about good service and good beer. Excellent Adnams Broadside and Ghost Ship. Very busy for food at busy times so book ahead!
