Arrived as a last-minute reservation for a party of 8 for my Pa's birthday dinner. To say we were looked after would be an understatement - we felt welcomed immediately, the staff were impeccable and the food was absolutely delightful. Thank you so much for such a wonderful evening!
A traditional pub in a picturesque English village. Lots of interesting architecture but tall people may have a problem! It has a small beer garden with a layout that is somewhat...random! Has a food menu. Sandwiches were fine but nothing special. Other dishes feel a little pricey for what is proposed. Parking might be a problem.
Stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend and had a very pleasant stay. Richard the landlord was very welcoming, the bedroom and bathroom was very nice and clean. The bar and beer was great, we would happily stay again!
Stayed overnight and the welcome from Richard was warm as was the room. The bed was the most comfortable we have slept in and the bar has a great range of drinks. The JB is an amazing pub and a great place to visit. Thanks Richard and will visit again soon.
Disappointing experience. A large group arrived during our meal, consisting of screaming, semi-dressed children and indulgent parents who made no effort to calm them down. As the bar staff also made no effort to intervene, it made the possibility of a nice lunch impossible. Then, after being forced to move outside alongside other diners, the pub tried to force a service charge on to our bill. What absolute cheek!
