Great pub. Full of character. Good selection of beers. Beer garden with the most fascinating part of the old building.

Really good old ale house on a hill in central Shrewsbury. A choice of a few ales, one I was on was lovely. Large outside area which has a very old structure overlooking it. I didn’t enquire what it was all about but I was impressed nevertheless. Supposedly haunted as it has cursed painting hidden away in the top floor with a sinister history. A quick online search will reveal said painting. Recommended pub! ???? ????

Best real ale pub or pub for that matter in Shrewsbury. Excellent well kept fresh real ale. I could have drank the HPA all day long.

Absolutely loved it here. Lovely people both sides of the bar, oozing with history and character. To try and modernise it would be a complete travesty, take it as you find it, immerse yourself, and just enjoy it for what it is. 11/10 One of my favourite pubs in Britain. Well done everyone ????
