Called in just after new owners had taken over and it offering a limited menu (which was fine). Service was a little chaotic and slow, but it can take time to get staff trained and processes in place. Food was a little disappointing in that a small scone sat alone in the middle of a large plate. However hopefully as they find their feet, these little issues will be ironed out.

I visited the old bakery on a busy Saturday, and had a great experience. I had the frittata, my daughter had the grilled cheese brioche and my friend had a bacon sandwich, finished off by a slice of freshly baked chocolate cake each (DELICIOUS). You can tell everything is freshly made each day with quality ingredients. This was our first visit but can’t wait to come back again!

Best place we visit at Newark for afternoon coffe and cake. The fruit tart is Godlike as well as the coffe, the service really good. 100% recommended.
