Just out on another adventure, Me and my beautiful sidekick. On this day we decided to pick the rail side in Nelson Illinois. Good choice! My wife had the smothered chicken. With a cherry Bomb blonde draft beer. The chicken was delicious! I had the jumbo shrimp with beef noodle soup And baby whole potatoes. The shrimp was amazing! I would put it right there up with One of the best I've had. Big very big! Yummy! The potatoes weren't too bad either.. And the beef's noodle soup was pretty good too. Bathrooms were super clean. place was clean. service was very good, although the food did take a minute but they were busy. Great environment. So a big thank you to the railside in Nelson Illinois for making me and my wife feel welcome and cooking us a delicious meal. Food was ok service was prompt. Place is clean and well kept. We ordered a hot beef, a chicken sandwich and fries (which was 2 chicken strips on a bun with a chili sauce and lettuce on it), chicken strips and spaghetti, 2 cups of potato soup, 1 cup of clam chowder, 1 sprite, 1 iced tea ordered with no lemon yet had lemon on it and a water the total before tip was $49.

Been eating at this place since a kid and it brings life to the Nelson locals, the staff is friendly and treats everyone like family, the owner is always in the establishment always checking in on everyone as well as making sure everyone walks out with a smile, I’ve seen negative reviews and I can say with confidence the people leaving negative reviews are not being honest, you get fresh quality food for a very fair price, this place gets packed sometimes so the wait is a little longer then people expect but everything is being made fresh to order, I have some issues with my orders that have been happening more frequently like my fries being soggy and undercooked or my chicken being tuff and overcooked but it’s not very common but still disappointing other then that I have nothing to complain about, come in with patience and a empty stomach and leave with a full stomach and a smile on your face

Don’t know why I haven’t posted this review sooner; been stopping here for years. Never had a meal come out of the kitchen that was anything less than excellent. Krista & her staff take great care in providing quality food & ensuring every surface is spic & span. Although no longer living in the area, whenever I return, I always try to make a stop here to say hi & generally get whatever's the daily special. Last time it was the Friday Fish Fry & a bowl of beef noodle with an extra breadstick - yummy. I highly recommend you stop at this location. First time experiencd at Railside. Absolutely the very best waitress with Jess and Jess! Jess Walters is also the best massage therapist in Sauk Valley area working in Sterling. Massage By Jess at Statik Salon. Highly recommend her and Railside cheeseburger was very good! Jess and Jess waitresses.... top notch!
