Honest food at affordable prices. An older market town pub with friendly welcome (for dogs too!) and what looks like an old skittle alley at the back, now with pool table. Food is proper pub grub (sausage, chips and beans, ham egg & chips etc) but great value. Homemade curries for £5! This would be a great place to feed the kids.

Stopped in here today to try the Sunday roast. OMG, I’m so glad I did. Happy staff who engaged and enlightened. A bargain of a lamb roast with all the trimmings. Well presented and cooked as fresh as possible. Not rushed or hurried at all. I never heard another customer moan or criticise in any way, everything was positive from start to finish. Smaller portions were available at a reduced rate, but I went all in for the big boy portion. Delighted I was too! I managed to leave room for pudding (no point being greedy ????) Had a scrumptious and fantastic raspberry sponge pudding and lashings of custard. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, awesome. Will gladly revisit. More so now I know they show all the football, rugby and F1 on a number of tellys. A diamond in the rough, that’s for sure.
