The welly is a proper traditional pub, with a great selection of ales, and I'm glad it hasn't changed much over time.

Went as they are advertising for staff and had good reviews.. Female bar staff didn't say hello, ask if i wanted food, engage in any conversation even though it was my first visit, nor check if i wanted another drink...as i left there was no acknowledgement... Times are hard... good customer service goes a long way... Out of curiosity i will pop in for a roast which is highly rated...perhaps a better experience? Beer was cheap.. 4.25 for Morretti... Food i saw come from the kitchen looked hot and hearty. One other point.. a few older folk in.. was cold... no heating? A few points to address perhaps

Brilliant place fantastic vibes. Bar staff outstanding. Get treat like a local/regular. (Was my first visit) made to feel more welcome than my local in Winchester. Will definitely visit again and ???????? recommend to anyone wanting quiet drink or even first date.
