Though a bit small, pretty good buffet overall. The fried chicken with hot sauce, and the mac n cheese were the highlights; with decent black eyed peas and collard greens to add. Cornbread was a bit dry, and everything thing else was only so so. The peach cobbler was good though. As mentioned by a few, not the most presentable buffet ever: but the ladies working here were doing their best to keep it clean, and looking ok, considering. And I’ll add, service was really good for a buffet. I do have to agree with most: it’s a bit pricey for the quality and variety given. So, sadly, only 3 stars for me.
Got me a to go awesome Burger,, with two extra patties for my Dog,, prices are alittle high,, but i will say for a small double meat burger,, its worth it,,, great flavor, cooked just right,, i recommend everyone stop on it
After stopping in yesterday approximately 3:20 with SO, he made a plate with meat, potatoes, bread and Mac & Cheese. He goes to the check out to ask for a drink, and the special needs cashier weighed his food he had sat on the counter. In Alabama the law states anyone working that is handicapped must be assisted by an aide, advocate, or nurse when working an hourly job. Well, her aide went missing somehow, and she charged my husband $35.22 to eat in. He asked for his money back after realizing she failed to perform the seemingly menial task, and was told no. She then later on said, oh I rang you up for 2 buffets because there are 2 of you. We looked at the receipt. Nope. She charged him to go when he was dining in. She weighed his food when he went to the counter to ask for a tea. He was told he needed to make it himself if he wanted a drink. No common sense at all. No respect, dignity, or legal practice. She charged what she wanted and did not refund his money she stole. We asked for her manager. She said she is management but if my husband wanted to see ownership, he can sit and wait until 5:30. It's not the norm to insult other people's intellect when you are lacking. but this was Alabama after all so there isn't much more expectation. He decided not to eat the food but I'm sure it would have tasted real special. Maybe one day the kind cook working in the back for less than $10 an hour will realize she's pulling in +$5,000 a week for this majority owned and operated establishment with her brilliant cooking and sell plates or open a pop up kitchen for herself. She's helping the majority attain higher wealth while her people who came to support her have money taken from them right in front of her. I will say the place is in severe disarray. It's unkempt, trashy and poorly decorated. The goal only is money here, not customer service, or attention to aesthetic detail. What a dump.
For a truck driver it feels good to be able to set down and enjoy a nice dinner. This is an old diner that has good food. I enjoyed it and the service was great. The young lady that took my order was very nice and polite with great customer service. I enjoyed my meal very much. And the prices are pretty reasonable. I had a nice double cheeseburger and some fries. The cheeseburger was better then a fast food place.
It’s a good place to do a 10 if your a truck driver, it’s now a one9 so there’s that. but the cashier has a attitude problem, the food has no taste, and the showers are nasty. if you come here just know, don’t expect to much. unfortunately I have to do a 34 here, it gets 2 stars because there’s parking, and it’s a one9 now. Other than that one start at best..
