A lovely big green space with a small play park, football pitches, and a basic BMX type track. All of this ruined by the fact they've banned dogs. We travelled from Maidenhead not knowing this so we just took our dog anyway rather than a wasted trip, but just seems really odd to do that in a public park.
Almost as I remember it growing up in the village in the 50's/60's .. It's been extended into the fields behind, and the two copse and the 'long grass' areas along the back and side which were great areas for adventuring and doing exercises with the Cubs and Scouts have disappeared sadly ... The childrens playground is OK but seems to have got progressively less activites over the years. The pavillion has lost it's charm and now an admin centre .. The new area looks OK but very clinical ... The Coffee on the day was nice (And very cheap - what a surprise ????) All together it's great to see a Rec' that has stayed loyak to it's roots and serves the community really well ???????? . There was no sign of/or to - a public loo though ... Something the older generation DEPEND ON ... But so many places ignore ????
Great Park with range of equipment (slides, climbing frames/wall, house, swings) within the play park, a zip wire in the field and a bike track in the next field. Plenty for children to play and a sheltered seating area for parents and carers.
We went for a bowls quiz night. It was so much fun.
Enjoyable play park and a really good pump track for children (even quite young, my 3 year old daughter loves ripping around it on her balance bike!), which generally is not to busy. Beware the pump track is shut during lock down, unlike the playpark
