Reviews
Photos are across two visits. I couldn’t believe this place was as bad as the reviews and, damn, was I WRONG! Only two dryers worked this time, I’m writing this from another laundromat as I didn’t want to wait out the increasingly agitated person of no fixed address drying their things. I’m pretty tolerant but I don’t feel comfortable sitting around someone yelling about how they are going to stab you. There is an attendant but they really can’t or won’t do much. I am left wondering why or how this place stays open. I will never return to this establishment and I suggest you avoid it as well.
I don’t get this place. It’s clean and the location is super convenient for me. I often see 10-20% of machines at most laundromats out of order. However here about 90% of the machines are out of order! That being said I’ve never had an issue getting my clothes laundered here as it’s never busy either. The staff / owners are friendly enough and there’s a vending machine. I wish there was free WiFi.
Why is this a 2-star review you may ask? It really should be a 1-start review, but no -- I am making this 2-stars so you know I took my time, thought carefully about this review, and gave you an honest response to any general inquiry about the establishment. The first feature you'll notice about the establishment is that 2/3 of all machines do not work. Yes, this includes washing machines, dryers, coin vendors, snack vendors, lighting fixtures -- its a miracle the windows work here, but I will give them that. THEIR WINDOWS WORK. That is maybe my best remark to give the infrastructure. Its a low bar, but you have to admit it would be terrible if the WINDOWS didn't work. When you get to the point of doing the laundry, you need to prepare for battle; you will fight the machines that try to eat your coins, the other machines which just spit back every coin you feed, and other customers in order to claim space on the battlefield while fighting the appliances. The cost per load is standard and the machines which work will generally clean the clothes too! Another plus! As an aside, you will at least have unique sculpture art surrounding you when you do your laundry. The out-of-service machines are kept in the back of the storefront as an example to the working machines that this is what will become of them when they misbehave. No -- the out of service machines are not in repair. They only accumulate. There is no repair service. There is no maintenance. These are lies the government tells us to believe an out-of-service machine can be repaired. Just remember that when you ask the owner if there are any "working machines" when you go. The space is liminal. It reminds you of a time when life existed and wasn't dilapidated. This laundromat is a philosophical experience and could become a masters thesis in socioeconomic development in small urban outlets... Great establishment. 2-stars!
