Good old fashioned family run English pub. Log burner, real beer, accommodation and a fab choice of homemade food on the menu. This was the second time we've stayed, even better this time. It's a working pub, so don't expect frills, there's dogs and prams in the bar and it's real! Not contrived decor. We love a fire, locals and muddy boots. Our room was very warm, very comfortable and very clean. Our dinner was deeeelish. Thank you to everyone at The Lord Nelson, we'll be back.

The room was amazing, it was clean and had everything we needed and even better it's all ground level so wheelchair friendly. The food was amazing and the chef went above and beyond for our fussy children.... and the whole team were wonderful.... super friendly locals... highly recommend staying here

A cold, dark place but with outstanding food! Freezing cold inside, so wrap up warm, but do not miss the beef pies, they're delicious, packed with meat and served piping hot!
